Unfortunately, I’m not able to include any overseas travel plans for this year, but we are planning on visiting Japan next year! This year will be a little light on travel due to financial/job issues, but it’s looking like that won’t be a problem by next year. Here are my plans so far for traveling this year. I’m really hoping to add a few more places in the fall.
Road trip to visit 3 out of the 5 best aquariums in the United States (Georgia Aquarium, New England Aquarium, & National Aquarium). I’ll be going with my roommate from college and another friend. They’re both marine biology majors, so this should be an interesting trip for me (a marketing major)… We’re also planning on going to the World of Coca-Cola while we’re in Atlanta. I’ve already been to both places in Atlanta, but it’s always fun to visit them again!
We’re hoping to be able to visit some of my family for a week up in West Bloomfield, Michigan. My great aunt lives on a lake up there. I’ve been going to visit every summer since I was little kid up until the last few years, so I’d really like to go. It all depends, however, on if Jason (my husband) can get off from work. 🙁 He doesn’t know how to swim either, so it would be interesting to see how he likes spending some time at a lake…
Hoping to go to Charleston, South Carolina finally…It’s on my bucket list for this year, but do to financial issues we haven’t really been able to do or plan much traveling for this year. But that should change by next year though!
We’re going to Disney World again! Jason and I went about 2 years ago for our Honeymoon, and we’ve been wanting to go back for an anniversary trip. Lucky for us, while I was with my parents at a fundraising event for a family friend’s music group, there were some tickets to Disney World offered at the silent auction. I’m so lucky my mom is like a lioness sometimes! She was able to win the auction for the tickets for me!
This is another low-key trip. We’ll be going to Wabash, Indiana to visit my family for Christmas (jobs permitting).
So those are my plans for this year! If you have any suggestions of places to stop and see during my road trip in May, please let me know! We’ll be driving from Raleigh, NC to Atlanta, GA, and back to Raleigh, NC (to crash at my apartment so we don’t have to pay for another night at a hotel), then off to Baltimore, MD then Boston, MA, and back to Raleigh.
